Established in 1975 as an electronic Security Consulting and burglar alarm company, FM Systems, Inc. has grown consistently as a leader in telecommunications, security, fire, and microprocessor-based low voltage systems.  With its early beginnings in security related to Fairlawn Security, a family-owned guard and patrol service in Akron, Ohio, FM has become a diverse systems integrator serving all of Ohio with national reach.

Our entry into telecommunications in 1980, started the business telephone systems operations.  As an early dealer for Panasonic Business Communications, FM installed some of the first Panasonic telephone products.  FM's telecommunicatons group has been strong over the years and has spawned several successful related ventures including Tricom Business Systems, Startech, Telemax, and APK Net.   

Today, we service over 3,500 commercial, governmental and residential customers.  We provide and support turnkey electronic systems for many Fortune 500 companies as well as small business throughout Ohio and nationally.  Together with our business partners, we have capabilites to install and service large systems all over the state and country. 

Acquisitions of several local competitors have added to the ever growing customer base now serviced under the FM System's banner.  Our sound business principles provide a stable platform for adding customers and expanding service areas.  We continue to grow and look for new acquisions and quality opportunites in our markets.
